What is the NACE Special Event Card?
The NACE Special Event Card is a fundraiser for the Honolulu Chapter of
the National Association of Catering Executives. NACE is a nonprofit
organization whose mission is to promote fellowship, education and
professionalism in the catering industry.
Proceeds from the sale goes towards continuing education opportunities
for our members and scholarships for students pursuing careers in
catering.
It also funds community service projects. For example, in 2005 our
chapter provided a donation of $2400 to Hurricane Katrina.
The NACE Special Events Card sells for $50 each.
Why should I buy a NACE Special Event Card?
Actually, the question should be why not? Depending on the number of
vendor services you use, the card not only pays for itself, but it could
potentially save you a lot more. You’ll be helping a great cause, and
you can be assured that you’re dealing with professional vendors for
your special occasion.
How can I buy a NACE Special Event Card?
All NACE members have cards for sale. Please visit our website,

members directory and to see the most current listings. The cards are
also available for purchase on-line by credit card at
www.nacehawaii.com/special_event_card.html.Does the card
expire, is it transferable and are there any restrictions?
The Special Event Silver Card is non-transferable and expires March 31,
2008. It is valid for NEW bookings only and may not be combined with
other offers.

Born in Lawton, Oklahoma,
award -winning
artist Peggy Chun has called Hawaii home since 1969. A
nationally known watercolorist, Peggy's artwork is filled
with the spirit of aloha. In 2002 Peggy was diagnosed with
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease; the same disease
that took her twin sister, and their mother. Currently
there is no known cure. Wheelchair bound, Peggy lost the
use of her right hand. She simply painted with her left.
In 2004 a weakened left hand sent the paint brush to
Peggy's teeth. "After all," she says, "you don't paint
with your hands, you paint with your heart."
